Keynote Address

DR. STEPHANIE GRANT

Developmental Psychologist, Neurodevelopment Trauma Expert

Dr. Grant will join us to talk about Neurodevelopmental Trauma in a prenatal to 5 population. Dr. Grant will explore what trauma is, how it occurs, and how it impacts development. She will further discuss how relationships can be supportive to prevent, protect, and help infants and young children heal from stress and how the IECMH work force can better engage in that important work. Trauma events from abuse, neglect, exposure to domestic violence, medical experiences, sensory processing differences, parental mental health, attachment disruptions, and prenatal experiences will all be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on infant neurology and their developing stress response system. Real-lived examples and actionable strategies will be provided throughout the day with opportunities for questions, discussion, and reflection. This day will be relevant for clinicians, childcare providers, early childhood educators, medical providers, policy makers, those engaged in foster care or adoption work, and any other professional who touches the lives of young children.
